Product & Materials

Are all Flora Prisma pieces naturally dyed?

Most Flora Prisma pieces are dyed using plant-based color. The exception is Midnight Black (available in both matte and lustrous options). True black is one of the most difficult colors to achieve with natural dye, and our studio is not currently set up to produce it.

For Midnight Black, we selected a richly colored silk charmeuse that has been conventionally dyed for depth and uniformity. Additional information about each color and dye process can be found on our product pages and blog.

Why do botanically dyed pieces vary in color or pattern?

Botanical dyes interact with fiber, dye materials, and the conditions of the dye process. These combinations naturally produce subtle shifts in tone and pattern, meaning no two pieces are exactly alike. We see this variation not as a flaw, but as a record of the materials and processes that created the garment, giving each piece its own character.

Will my garment look exactly like the photos?

Because many Flora Prisma pieces are dyed using botanical color, subtle variation in tone and pattern should be expected. Product photos represent the overall character of a color or print, but each piece will have its own unique expression. If you would like more information about the color of a particular garment before purchasing, please feel free to contact us.

Care

How should I care for Flora Prisma garments?

Hand washing is a gentle option for caring for Flora Prisma pieces at home. Air dry by laying flat or hanging to dry.

While our care tags note that traditional dry cleaning is not recommended, there is some nuance worth sharing. Traditional dry cleaning relies on harsh chemical solvents that are not recommended for natural dyes (or the environment).

However, some eco-friendly dry cleaners use wet cleaning (also called wet dry cleaning), which Flora Prisma has found to work beautifully on both our naturally dyed and conventionally dyed silk charmeuse.

Ordering

What size should I buy?

If you’re not quite sure which size is right for you, refer to our size guides. You can find additional information about the fit of each garment on the product page.

Can I cancel my order?

We completely understand—we change our minds too. Once an order is placed, we are typically unable to alter or cancel it.

That said, if you need to make a change, please email us (below) as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate your request. While we can’t guarantee that a cancellation is possible, we will let you know if we’re able to process it.

If the item isn’t right once it arrives, you can initiate a return for a refund—domestic return shipping is free.

Shipping, Returns & Exchanges

We use major carriers, and local courier partners. You’ll be asked to select an available delivery method during checkout.

What is the shipping policy?

We currently ship within the contiguous United States (lower 48 states plus Washington D.C.). We offer free economy ("no rush") shipping on orders of $95 or more, as well as affordable express options at checkout. For orders below the free shipping threshold, paid shipping is available.

We regret that we cannot currently ship to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories or internationally.

Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that we have received your order. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the case of returns.

Do you ship globally?

We currently ship within the contiguous United States (lower 48 states plus Washington D.C.) only.

We regret that we cannot currently ship to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories or internationally.

We hope to offer additional shipping regions in the future. If you were hoping to place an order from outside our current areas of service, we would love to hear from you—please get in touch and let us know where you are located.

What is your return policy?

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 calendar days after receiving your item to request and mail back an eligible return. To qualify, the return package must be scanned by the return carrier within 30 calendar days of the original delivery date.

Return shipping is free. However, please note that we charge a 2% restocking fee on all accepted returns to cover non-shipping return costs, such as package insurance.

Returns can be hard on a small brand, so we encourage you to review our size guide and product descriptions carefully before purchasing. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to help. That said, we want you to have something you truly love, and we’re glad to accept returns when needed.

How do I start a return?

Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, free of odors, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. 

Initiating a return

To start a return, please submit a return request through your order history within your customer account, or send us an email at hello@floraprisma.com.

Once approved, we will provide return instructions. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Do you offer exchanges?

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

When will I receive a refund for a return?

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return. If the return is approved, you will receive a refund on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please send us an email via the contact page or email hello@floraprisma.com with your order number.
